FAQ

Welcome to the FAQ page!

Here, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions I receive about my mobile house call dog grooming services. I’ve compiled this list to help you better understand how I operate and what you can expect when choosing Tracy Pickel LLC for your pet’s grooming needs.

Whether you’re curious about our grooming processes, appointment scheduling, or policies on pet care, you’re in the right place. If your question isn’t answered here, please feel free to contact me directly, and I’ll be happy to address any questions that aren’t covered here.

Policies and Information

Tracy Pickel LLC’s philosophy is to offer a stress free grooming experience for your dog. Safety and comfort are our first priority. We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that we think is excessive. This includes nail trimming in some situations.

Health Issues

Before any groom, please advise us of any medical, physical, emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions. These conditions may include, but are not limited to prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections skin problems and respiratory issues. Infectious diseases must be reported immediately so we can reschedule your appointment for the safety of all our clients.

Senior Dogs and Dogs With Health Issues

Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems. Grooming may expose hidden medical conditions or aggravate existing ones during or after the grooming.

Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. All pets must be able to stand, and be stable while standing during the groom. If your dog shows any sign of anxiety, discomfort or distress the groom will be discontinued immediately.

I always put your dog’s safety and comfort first. If we arrive at your home and determine your dog cannot be safely groomed, a $50.00 minimum groom fee will apply. Tracy Pickel LLC will not be responsible for accident or injury to an elderly or health compromised pet during their grooming.

Puppies

It is important to start off on the right paw. I strive to help your puppy associate grooming with a positive experience in the years to come. Grooming early and often will help your puppy become more socialized and tolerant of the grooming equipment and sensations. Puppies may or may not need a haircut the first time, but should get a bath and a nail trim for the practice. Slowly introducing your puppy to the grooming experience will teach them that grooming is not something to fear.

Behavioral Issues

If your dog has behavior problems, please let me know. Dogs that are aggressive will NOT be groomed. If you are aware that your dog may have a temperament issue and fail to notify me, you can and will be liable for all medical fees, out of work compensation, as well as any property damage. I reserve the right to muzzle your dog. If we arrive at your home and determine your dog cannot be safely groomed, a $50.00 minimum groom fee will apply.

Pet Injury

I would never intentionally harm your dog, and every precaution is taken to see to it that your pet is handled in a kind, loving, and humane manner. Grooming equipment is sharp, and dogs are wiggly/moving creatures, so even though I use extreme caution and care in all situations, the possibility of the dog getting cut, nicked, scratched, or the nails quicked, etc. does happen and Tracy Pickel LLC will not be held liable for the injury. If an injury occurs, we will administer first aid treatment immediately and advise you the dog owner. Accidents do happen, and we would never try to hide an injury, or fail to inform the owner. If you notice any injury after the groom, Tracy Pickel LLC must be notified within 24 hours of the groom.

Vaccinations

Rabies vaccinations are required by law for all dogs and must be kept current. Your dog will not be in contact with other dogs while grooming, so I do not require vaccinations (with the exception of the rabies vaccine), but they are recommended. If your dog bites a groomer, you must show proof of an up-to-date rabies vaccination certificate.

Scheduling

I will arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible, however, sometimes situations occur that will disrupt the daily schedule of the groomer. This includes traffic, weather, mechanical difficulties, spending more time with an older/younger dog or a difficult dog. The dog’s safety will never be compromised by rushing to meet a schedule. You will be called and advised of an arrival time when schedules change beyond our control.

Cancellation and Missed Appointments

I require 48 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment. Giving advance notice gives me the opportunity to fill your grooming slot and rearrange my schedule. A courtesy reminder text message will be sent to you the day before your appointment, however it is your responsibility to keep track of your appointments. Failure to notify me of a change or cancellation 48 hours or more in advance will incur a $50 cancellation fee for each dog that must be paid prior to your next appointment. If I show up for the appointment and there is no one at home to release the dog (s), a cancellation fee equal to the total cost of the groom will apply and must be paid prior to your next grooming appointment. If I arrive at your home and determine your dog cannot be safely groomed, a $50.00 minimum groom fee will apply.

Payment

Payment is due at completion of the groom. I accept Cash, Debit Card, Bank Transfer (Zelle), Apply Pay and all major credit cards. If payment has not been received by 5pm on the day of service, a 3% fee will be added daily to your total until payment is received.
